one of the main reason I'm not telling anyone yet is because of the stereotype that comes to mind when most people think crossdresser/trans
when you tell someone you're trans, whether your in guy mode or fully decked out and girly, this is one of the images that sticks in they're mind. now whenever they think about you they'll think about that picture. it becomes something about you that overshadows all you other defining features. now it's never "oh that's _____ she's really nice", it's always "oh it's _____ she has a penis".
as you can see, thats not really something enjoyable so i want to avoid it as much as possible

Have you considered an operation?
ReplyDeleteHow large a part of your life is this? Do you feel it's a phase, or do you actually feel this is who you are?
even if you have the operation there's still the chance that i'll get out and then you're a dishonest woman that used to have a penis
ReplyDeletealso me personally, i don't think i'll get the surgery, though i will probably completely transition up to that point
The problem with stigma's is that until someone starts challenging them they tend to stay...you should be proud of who you are and screw what everyone else thinks...confidence comes from inside
ReplyDeleteI don't know, actually...one of my best friends is a transwoman--I didn't know she was trans until we'd already met and become friends. I knew there was something different about her, but I never assumed, and even after seeing pictures of her before her transition, I never see her anything as who she is now. I have never once imagined her as a man with a wig, I have never once seen, in my mind, the stereotyped image of a 'trannie' or 'guy in a dress'. I love her, and see her as what she is.
ReplyDeleteDon't assume that everyone will see this when they meet you, or find out your gender status. People can be often cruel, but they can so often be accepting as well. I'm not saying you won't meet with some resistance of this kind, but immediately assuming people are seeing this is shooting yourself in the foot, so to speak.
The only thing in my mind is "Wow, there's ____...I love her. I wonder if we'll get time to snuggle and talk today?"
that's just beautiful :3
ReplyDeletethanks for that you made my day
n_n I have learned much of what I know about my own femininity (such as it is) from the transwomen, crossdressers, and various fabulous gender-fluid creatures in my life.
ReplyDeleteEmbrace your fierce awesomeness, sweetie. Nobody could possibly see you as anything other than amazing.
